The young lady Presley at the front desk has an attitude and seems very indifferent and uncaring. Presley was the rudest I have ever experienced at a vets. Presley was not just rude 1 time but on phone calls and multiple visits so I know she wasn’t just having a bad day. In an industry where pet owners are seeking caring help for the health of their beloved pets (or a heartbreaking time of having to put their beloved pet down) this service is unacceptable! The vets have seemed professional and caring. However the office staff are not always very nice. Susan is nice and professional. Crystal was nice and professional but no longer works there. A big thank you to Susan for her kindness and helping me when Presley wouldn’t. Susan should get a raise and Presley’s employment should be terminated. After 6 years and hundreds of dollars I have spent at Northwoods. I will not be going back! I also have multiple friends/ families who used to use Northwoods and now take their pets to another vet because of the poor service. The owner/ management should consider replacing Presley and any other desk staff that are not professional and compassionate or they are going to continue losing their customer base. There are many vet options locally and customers wont pay top prices for unfriendly and uncaring service. For 40+ years I have raised family pets, farm animals, and have rescued animals. I have used many vets and spent thousands of dollars so I leave this feedback with confidence from experience.

I have an older dog who's suffering from cushings. The manufacturer of the drug that is used to treat this condition suggests that a hormone test should be done every 6 months. My dog has had many of these tests of which none of them resulted in a prescription adjustment. The last test the dog got there was nothing more than a spanking for me, since I wasn't able to get him in for the test before his medication ran out. They knowingly gave him a test, that would be inaccurate because he had not been taking the meds because they withheld his perception in order to grab my money, then when it came to telling me the results, they glided right over that, and acted like I was so eager to write that check. Okay. I will try to be better prepared. Fast forward. Once again they withheld his life saving meds in order to money grab, allowing my dog to suffer, again. They had no problem calling me after the pharmacy called in 3 requests over a week, to scold me for not bringing him in for a test that NEVER results in a script alter. However they never called prior to the 6 months to offer assistance in this seemingly VERY important test, I mean it is so crucial that they are willing to let a senior dog suffer without it just to force me to pay up, even if the test will be an invalid reading. It is ridiculous and an abuse of power, with a dog who will ultimately pay the price. My advice. Don't treat your dogs like loved ones, treat them more like livestock if you dont want to go broke with these types of tactics used by vets today. UPDATE: This vet wanted to clean his teeth after listening to his heart and after his labs. He was having a lot of pain I took him to the ER, there the doctor told me he would not live through surgery. I asked if I should get his teeth cleaned and he said NO. He knew what he was talking about. Frodo started coughing and a few minutes later he died in my arms. I am convinced these people caused un needed stress on his system by withholding meds and would have killed him by putting him to sleep to clean his teeth. I am glad he died with me rather than on the operating table.
